See that Girl, Watch that Scene,
Dig in the Dancing Queen

Dancing Queen – Abba

Have you seen Tessie Aquino-Oreta‘s latest political ad on TV? The one where she explains why she did that infamous cheerleading number after the majority in the Senate voted not to open the second envelope in former President Joseph Estrada‘s impeachment trial? Gee. I’ve never seen so much hipocrisy compressed into a 30-second plug…. This one’s a really desperate move. But I must say the acting is pretty impressive. With the teary eyes, shaky voice, and all — if only FAMAS had a Best Performance in a Political Ad Award, then without any doubt, she’d be our Helen Mirren (minus the dancing part, of course).

This move by the Senate’s original dancing queen reminds me of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo‘s first public acting stint when she apologised for the Hello Garci scandal some years ago. But GMA is a poor actress — well, at least in that I’m sorry video crap. I wonder how much politicians spend on hiring film directors or acting coaches. But whoever taught Oreta acting for this ad, GOOD JOB! Sounds like a new career for me, hahaha.

Now, can we blame our actors for continuously conquering the political scene when there’s so much drama going on in our dear nation’s political stage. Cool, huh?

On May 31, 1985, tragedy struck when 41 tornadoes hit Canada and the US, leaving 76 people dead. At the same time, a doomed couple in the Philippines were having the best orgasms of their lives. Nine months (280 days) later, a healthy baby boy was brought into this world by normal delivery. That was exactly a week before Microsoft had its initial public offering.

Today, Yoshke Dimen resides independently in Mandaluyong City. He got a degree in Film from an overrated university in Diliman but is now pursuing a career in Social Media.
