I was supposed to post an entry about my ex-girlfriend and my high school friends today but I noticed I was tagged by Janus. You all know I’m not the type of blogger who is into web memes or whatever, but what the hell, I think, as a sign of courtesy, I gotta give it a try.
Here are the rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts about themselves on their Blog. People who are tagged need to blog 7 facts about themselves and post the rules as well. At the end of their blog list 7 people you are tagging. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving them a comment.
I think I have described myself well on this blog’s About page, so I’ll be getting some parts of this post from there, and I’ll just try to add some things.
The first two facts are things you HAVE to know for my safety (and perhaps, yours, too):
1. I’m a hematophobe/hemaphobe. I am extremely afraid (more like disgusted, really) of blood — human blood, in particular. I dread the sight of human blood. Even my own. ESPECIALLY my own. I can stand seeing blood as long as I don’t know it’s HUMAN blood. And I can stand seeing them on TV and in films. I only freak out when I know it’s REAL HUMAN BLOOD.

2. I am allergic to dogs and cats — specifically, their fur. I have a bad pair of lungs (but I’m a smoker, hihihi), and when I was a kid, I always got hospitalised because of asthma. But as I grew up, my body became stronger and less susceptible to allergens: pollen, dirt, and smoke. For some reason, my system never learnt to tolerate fur. I suffer mild asthma attacks whenever I got in contact with dogs or cats, or anyone who had been with these animals before getting near me.
Those are the first two facts that you have to know about me. Here are the others:
3. I am immune to Dengue fever. After disease, specific immunity is produced to the infecting strain of dengue virus. Meaning, when your system is attacked by a strain, you’ll never get sick because of that strain again. There are four strains of dengue virus. And I’ve been infected by dengue four times. Good for me. Mosquitoes, bring it on! Hehehe.
4. Although it doesn’t show, I am a glutton. I make sure I get to have at least five heavy meals a day. And I love to cook, too.
5. I don’t eat beef. I don’t know why. My brain must have had repressed the memory of my experience that made me hate beef so much. I throw up because of the mere smell of beef, raw or cooked. And nope, not even hamburgers I can stand. Ironically, everyone in my family is a beef-lover. And they love preparing kare-kare, beef steak, caldereta, bulalo, etc., so whenever they cook something with beef, I lock myself in my room so as not to smell anything… beefy. When I was younger, my parents made a rule that I had to eat, or at least taste, anything that they were serving on the table. But I guess I was just a severely spoiled brat they did not succeed in any way. How? Because I really would not eat and starve myself, and my parents would show pity on me, and prepare something else. Since then, they never forced me to try beef again. Click here for more of my food peculiarities.
6. I love being alone. I enjoy travelling alone, watching movies alone, eating alone, drinking or getting drunk alone. And lately, walking and playing football in the rain. Alone.
7. I am selfish. I always think of myself first before anything or anyone else. And I’ve always believed that everyone is selfish. What varies is the degree of selfishness. It’s not a question of whether a person is selfish or not but how selfish the person is.
A’right, I’m done. I’m tagging: Astrid, Ayn, Andre, Apol, Patti, Mimay, KZ.
