‘Convenience’ Store, Huh?

Yogurt. Last Sunday, I woke up craving for some yogurt. Off to Mini-Stop convenience store. I grabbed a cup of strawberry-flavoured yogurt, approached the counter, opened my wallet and took out a P200-bill.

Then the cashier said, “Sir, don’t you have a smaller bill?”

I checked my pockets and looked for a smaller bill. Nadah. I pouted. Looking so apologetic, I responded, “Oh, I’m sorry, I don’t.”

She told me, “But sir, I don’t have change. You really don’t have a smaller bill, sir?”

“I really don’t. If I had any, I would’ve given it to you coz I really want this damn yogurt right now.”

“But sir, I really don’t have change.”

The conversation went on for God knows how long — the girl telling me she didn’t have change and I, telling her neither did I.

MY GAWD. IT WAS FREAKIN’ INFURIATING. I’m sure, at one point, you have experienced something like this. And I’m sure it almost made your blood hit boiling point. I mean, come on, what did she expect me to do? Put the yogurt back on the shelf and just find another store? Gawd. It’s her duty to find change, not mine. I’m a freakin’ customer — and a hungry one at that.

So what did I do? I opened the cup of yogurt in front of her and said, “I’m willing to wait.”

When someone’s lazy, I turn bitchy. And those who come between yogurt and I shall be doomed. Never EVER deprive me of yogurt.

This is actually just a teaser of the next list that I will publish on this blog — top 18 most annoying types of people we encounter everyday. The list is complete but if you have suggestions, hit the post comment button. They just might make them to the list. I already have 18, but I can still change it to Top 20 or something.

This is one thing I hate about Manila. People don’t treat customers the way they should. Nice post. Can’t wait for the next one.

People don’t treat customers the way they should.

Exactly. At hindi lang cashiers ha. Drivers. Waiters. Uh, name it.

Oh! Indeed, surly cashiers never fail to irk me.

Are queue jumpers included in your list? How about excessively complacent fundamentalists?

2008-05-06 18:32:07

yeah, i have something that involves queues.

2008-05-06 00:53:57

damn! you got me craving for yogurt!

I opened the cup of yogurt in front of her and said, “I’m willing to wait.”

hahahaha love the attitude!

what’s even worse is after you had that annoying conversation, after you’ve gone all trough your pockets and dug inside your bags and the cashier finally gives up… she would then open some sort of secret compartment or pull out a bag from under somewhere. turns out she had change afterall!!!

2008-05-06 18:35:14

Come on, let’s start a YOGURT LOVERS Group. Haha. Kidding.

she would then open some sort of secret compartment or pull out a bag from under somewhere.

2008-05-06 18:45:48

Meanie! aylavet!

2008-05-06 18:53:01

u know me that well huh? ;) i hate u.

;p

2008-05-07 09:43:35

haha. oh well. SUPLADITA ka kaya.

2008-05-06 18:48:27

GOOD JOB!!! Tama yun. I hate those places that ask you for a smaller bill or if you have loose change so they can hand you a bill nalang.

Anyway, if you HAD smaller bills and DIDN’T want to use that to pay for your purchase(s), that shouldn’t be any problem. You are, in fact, doing them a service by ‘taking your business’ there.

2008-05-06 18:51:47

pag barya lang tinanggap nila, it wont be convenient anymore. haha.

Anyway, if you HAD smaller bills and DIDN’T want to use that to pay for your purchase(s), that shouldn’t be any problem.

2008-05-06 22:24:34

you’re naturally a bitch.

2008-05-07 09:36:31

Whoah, I AM NOT.

I am usually very understanding and considerate. Wahaha.

2008-05-07 07:40:06

ampf

2008-05-07 09:37:24

trew, mababa nga kasi sweldo nila kaya siguro ganun. PERO KAHIT NA! Pakshet sila.

2008-05-07 08:53:25

E taena nila, kaya nga may metro eh.

LOL.

2008-05-24 23:59:52

ako rin! usually, binabawi ko pera ko tas lipat ako ng store. but no, nainis lang ako that time so nagmaldita ako. haha
