Two months ago, I posted an entry about me just about to try the ProActiv Solution that my colleague had given me. Let’s look back at my situation last May.
The Problem. My nasty skin. Pimples seem to run in the family as my dad had this problem, too, when he was alive. My skin seemed to produce more oil than Saudi Arabia. My pimples looked like they were aiming for the Swarm badge on Foursquare — the venue, my face. I’ve tried everything. With the help of a dermatologist, it subsided a little but proved to be more than I can afford. I was also taking isotane (an oral medication) but I had to give up alcohol to avoid the side effects.
The Challenge. For two months, I’d use ProActiv Solution. Within this period, I won’t visit my dermatologist and refuse any treatment. I’d also stop taking Isotane and quit using the other products I had been using. For two months, it would just be me, ProActiv and my proactive pimples.
And now, the result.
THE RESULT
Well, it works big time. I wouldn’t lie. I won’t say ProActiv eliminated all my pimples in a month and I don’t get any pimples anymore. BUT there’s a considerable decline in the number of pimples I’ve had since I started using it.
A few days after I started, I’ve had several pimples. I got worried. But one of my friends told me that it’s normal when using products and that I shouldn’t worry because that only means it’s taking effect. Apparently, the product is deep cleansing my skin that pimples would really appear immediately after first use. But when it cleared up, I rarely get pimples. Since then, I’ve had like three pimples in two months. That’s quite an accomplishment given the condition of my skin.
I’m a travel blogger and what better way to show you the results than with candid shots of me on a trip. Here are some pictures of me on our Coron trip last year. See? I can’t even look at them.
Now here’s a recent picture. This one’s taken in Bohol a couple of weeks ago. The improvement is amazing. (Just don’t count the pounds I gained, haha.) However, I still have the scars that my past pimples left.
The ProActive Soultion 30-day trial has four products in it — the renewing cleanser (a facial wash), the revitalizing toner, the repairing lotion and the refining mask. Admittedly, I’ve never touched the mask. I’m usually too lazy to do all the rituals at night so I use only three of the four products. I didn’t read the entire manual that came with it except the part where they explained how to use it. I didn’t wanna know what each of them does, I wanted to feel the results without expectations.
The Renewing Cleanser is my favorite because I can feel its effects right after use. It has this immediate refreshing, clean, light effect that I don’t get with other products. My skin feels lighter and cleaner every after use. It feels like my pores have been unclogged or something. The Revitalizing Toner makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I don’t know what the Repairing Lotion does but I use it anyway. My guess is that it is actually the one that killed my pimples. My pimples used to grow as big as my ego but now, they die even before they enter puberty.
Aside from the dramatic reduction of the number of pimples, one good thing I noticed is that my skin is not as oily as before. Before, I’d have to wipe off oil every hour or so. Now, I can survive the day with only taking care of oil just once.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with ProActiv solution. It works like it promises. But since the challenge is over, I’d have to go back to my dermatologist because I need to take care of the kelloid scars that I have — something that ProActiv cannot fix. But I will continue using it for sure.
I recommend ProActiv to all who are suffering from oily, acne-prone skin. I can’t promise that it will work for you. But I can say it is worth a try. It definitely worked for me.

This product was a blessing to me. I agree with what Yosh said about it. It is indeed a reliable product. I thought my acne was unstoppable. But proactive stopped it. I bought one package from Watsons which was around 5K that time. Tumigil tlga ung production ng acne sa mukha ko. My skin definitely got better after using it.
Proactiv is really effective… for me… when i was in UAE, it helped eliminate the acne and pimples from my face… now i am in saudi arabai… can any one tell me where i can buy this?
