Munich Loves Me. Sickness, Too.

Posted on by Yoshke in Friends, Health, Music |

Ayn gave me a “Munich Loves You” flag, which she got from some guy in that German city, and a Germany travel-slash-football guide. Thanks, Ayn! I sooo love it. But I’m sorry I didn’t have much energy to jump out of my seat in utter happiness when you gave it to me. I needed (and still need) some rest. But I’m really grateful. Promise. And oh! Munich, I love you, too. I envy Ayn for doing that Euro Tour. Waaah! I wish I had much time and money and support from my family! Hahaha. Anyway, in 2008, let’s invade Europe. Come on! Football Euro 2008!!! Sugod Ayn and KZ!!!

I’ve been sick since Friday. I’m still trying to figure out the cause. Was it my excessive smoking? Was it too much work and stress? Or was it simply the weather? It must be the weather (or at least that’s what I want to believe). Anyhow, I need to get rid of this hell-like fever, runny nose and coughing like there’s no tomorrow. Ironically, I still managed to get drunk last night at the UP Cinema Videoke Party/ Team-Building Seminar, but to no effect. Being sick and being drunk did not make that much of a difference. Anyway, Thanks Ace for all the beer! I was also not able to hug anyone because I feared passing on the viruses. Suddenly, I became a walking viral infection.

My dear, you just said “semi-slutty.” Haha. And there’s no other way to describe it.

“Peace is not the absence of crisis. It’s the presence of justice.”

I got that quote from some CNN International viewer who commented on the Middle East crisis. Stop the war. Please.

People, Like Opportunities, Come and Go

THE POST-GRADUATION EFFECT
You think life after graduation is much happier than college life? You’re wrong. It’s a complete change of lifestyle. And it’s not easy. Looking for jobs, leaving and being left by people you are used to be with, missing the review and lecture days…. It’s difficult

I have a couple of reasons to be sad. Kuya Amiel has officially moved out of the house this morning. He’ll be working in Clark. (sigh) Four years of being roommates ended just like that. Anyway, I’m also moving to Makati soon.

Another is that I used to complain because of all the companies that I have sent my resume to, no one was calling me for an interview or exam or whatever. But now, I’ve been receiving a lot of offers. It’s cool, really. But they’re challenging my decision-making skills. I can’t choose. But at the end of the day, I think I’ll just go for the company which gives the biggest compensation.

One thing is for sure, though. I’m gonna be a diplomat in two years time (naks, confidence) and so, whatever company I would work for in the next months, I won’t be staying there for long.

Bad News with Pretty Faces

Posted on by Yoshke in Hotties, TV |

Now that the World Cup is over, watching CNN International has again become painful. Not because they deliver news badly but because they only have bad news now. Let’s see… the Middle East crisis (in case you don’t know, idiot, I’m talking about the tension between Lebanon and Israel), the 39 landslides in Baguio City, the Mumbai bombings, the plane crash in Siberia, the mere appearance of President Bush, and Zenedine Zidane’s head-butting display.

Good thing the beautiful Monita Rajpal, her partner cutie-pie Max Foster, funny guy Michael Holmes (I might be the only one who finds this man funny but I really love it when he makes comments on the issues; he has this wickedly weird sense of humour and sarcasm), the very sexy weather girl Jenny Harrison and the strangely attractive Mr. Sport Know-it-all Don Riddell (I sooo love his lips) are still there. And although I’m starting to develop a certain immunity to bad news, the good news is these anchors and reporters sort of balance things up. These people — to die for.

The End of the World as I Know It

Posted on by Yoshke in Emo, Sports |

It’s my favourite sport but sometimes, football can be the cruelest game in the world. I know, I know. Germany lost. And it’s really difficult to absorb the truth. I have been mourning since that first goal from Italy and nothing has changed. It feels as if someone so dear to me had passed away. I have never loved a sport team this much. And the World Cup is over for us. It did not matter that I was a bit embarassed that people were seeing me shed tears on my way home.

Last two minutes! Last two minutes of EXTRA TIME! How cruel could fate get? Italy delivered two goals in the last dying seconds of the match. Germany did not expect that something like that would happen. They might have been very relaxed, waiting for a penalty shoot-out because they know it would be a sure-win for them. But the penalty shoot-out never came because Italy scored.

But I’m not blaming the players. They did a very good job in the tournament. It’s just that the idea that Germany is not gonna be the World Champion saddens me so.

Anyway, I’m now hoping that France win. After all, they are my third favourite team. I don’t care about the little bet I have with Josh. Our deal: P500 — his if France wins; mine if Germany wins. But I have already lost. And I don’t care if I lose P500. I just want France to win this time — now that Germany has gone home.

Two Happy Goals and a Red Ticket

Posted on by Yoshke in Euphoria, Sports |

A GOAL THAT SAID IT ALL

Forgive me for being so into goals and stadia. I just can’t get enough of football these days. And so, I have changed my blog’s colour theme to match my favourite football team. And I will not stop talking about it until the World Cup is over. GO GERMANY!!!

When Juergen Klinsmann announced that he had chosen Jens Lehmann as his No. 1 player (No. 1, as in default goalkeeper), I was one of the many who protested. World-class goalie Oliver Kahn has already proven himself so many times and all of a sudden, the coach chose another man for the very crucial job. After Germany’s debut match with Costa Rica, where Lehmann conceded two goals, I felt uneasy. I was thinking that the coach indeed made a very bad decision. And then the next matches came and Lehmann proved me wrong. He is not just good, but arguably the best goalie in this tournament.
