Pinoy Dream Look-Alikes

Posted on by Yoshke in TV |

Status: At work
Music: Pangarap Lang – Yeng Constantino

It’s not a secret that I’m a big Pinoy Dream Academy fan. To be honest, before the show was launched, I was not that interested. I thought it would just be second-rate Philippine Idol. I was really excited about PI that time, and was refusing to watch a single episode of PDA. But when Philippine Idol started eliminating their good contestants one by one (not to mention that Ken and Miguel still manage to stay in the competition), I swore not to use the word excited and Philippine Idol in the same sentence again. (Oops, I guess I did it again.) Philippine idol becomes more and more disappointing as the show “progresses.” Disappointing is actually an understatement.

When I switched to Pinoy Dream Academy, I was satisfied. At least, in this contest, the weak ones get booted out. And I realised there are a lot of talented people here like Joan, Yeng, Ronnie, Irish and so on. Too bad Iya said goodbye so early.

I’m also a Peyups.com “resident,” although I seldom post comments. And one of the fastest growing threads there is the PDA thread. And right now, they’re just having fun, err… should I say, making fun of the PDA scholars. The topic: PDA scholars’ look-alikes. And here are some samples.

And I saved the best for last…

Thanks to all the people in the Peyups.com community. Sorry I didn’t have the chance to tell you that I would post your posts on this blog. And sorry to all RJ and Iya fans. I love them both but this is just for fun. Au revoir!

One Narcissistic Moment

Status: Drunk and happy
Music: I’m Not Missing You - Stacie Orrico

Just give this chance to me. It is not everyday that I post pictures of me on this blog. Hehehe. The pics were taken inside my tuquoise-painted room in our house in the province. (And Dohna, KZ and Tonet, NO, it’s not neon green!)

In other news: I’m not a faithful viewer of Pinoy Dream Academy but I just fell in love with the song Yeng Constantino composed, Hawak Kamay. I’m still trying to figure out how to find the lyrics to this song. (I just can’t understand Jun Hirano‘s part.) I don’t really like Yeng but she’s really good. I like Jay-R and Kristoff. Hehe. They’re, er, cute.

Other songs that make me happy these past few days are: Stacie Orrico’s I’m Not Missing You, JoJo’s Too Little Too Late, Christina Aguilera‘s Save Me From Myself and Pink’s Who Knew (I cried the first time I heard this song…). And also, Anastacia’s theme song At the Beginning (Richard Marx and Donna Lewis).

If you still haven’t grabbed a copy of Christina Aguilera’s third effort Back to Basics, then do it now. I bet it’s gonna get Grammy‘s next nod for Album of the Year. And Ain’t No Other Man, Record of the Year. (The album debuted #1 in the Billboard 200 chart, although the carrier track only reached #6 in Hot 100.) Other tracks that I really adore are Slow Down Baby, Hurt and Understand. Xtina rocks!

Bad News with Pretty Faces

Posted on by Yoshke in Hotties, TV |

Now that the World Cup is over, watching CNN International has again become painful. Not because they deliver news badly but because they only have bad news now. Let’s see… the Middle East crisis (in case you don’t know, idiot, I’m talking about the tension between Lebanon and Israel), the 39 landslides in Baguio City, the Mumbai bombings, the plane crash in Siberia, the mere appearance of President Bush, and Zenedine Zidane’s head-butting display.

Good thing the beautiful Monita Rajpal, her partner cutie-pie Max Foster, funny guy Michael Holmes (I might be the only one who finds this man funny but I really love it when he makes comments on the issues; he has this wickedly weird sense of humour and sarcasm), the very sexy weather girl Jenny Harrison and the strangely attractive Mr. Sport Know-it-all Don Riddell (I sooo love his lips) are still there. And although I’m starting to develop a certain immunity to bad news, the good news is these anchors and reporters sort of balance things up. These people — to die for.
