Don’t you just hate spams? Other than Bayern Munich and Chelsea newsletters (I signed up for these, so there’s no problem with these football clubs), and some Animax Channel  and JobStreet updates, I also receive e-mails from strangers that I don’t even know if they’re real humans or what. I’m sure you also experience finding foreign-language mails in your inbox, or letters from people asking for help, or notifications that you have won something but would seem impossible to claim! And tonight, guess what I have just received? It’s a mail from someone telling me this, just this and nothing else:

If you start taking Penis Enlarge Patch,
the world’s attention will be drawn to your dick.

What the hell?!?

This article is by Tarra Quismundo of the Philippine Daily Inquirer published on August 7.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Bayani Fernando yesterday suggested that large private schools located along major roads in the metropolis turn their football fields into parking lots.

This, he pointed out, would help solve the perennial traffic problem in areas surrounding schools….

…Fernando reiterated that he was serious about asking school officials to turn their football fields into parking areas for students’ vehicles. He particularly cited the schools located near Ortigas Avenue in Mandaluyong City and on Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City — considered the busiest roads in Metro Manila during the school year….

I only have one word to say to Bayani Fernando… WHATEVER?!?

Gen(d)erally Speaking

Posted on by Yoshke in Gay, Love, Personal Life, Rants |

More than a year ago, Icang asked me if I would ever be capable of loving another man. I was straight then. I answered Icang with this: I was never attracted to another man, I am not, but I am not saying I will never be. A few months after saying that I found myself falling for another guy. But it was only very recently that I came out. To be honest, no one in my family or in my hometown has a clue. And whenever I meet new friends, I don’t usually tell them about my sexuality until they ask me (which only happened once).

I am bisexual. And as Ma’am Almond Aguila, our Ethics professor back in college, said: it is difficult enough to understand “gay” people, and it’s even harder to understand “bisexuals.” I am aware of that little difficulty because before becoming like this, I also had the same sentiments. But if you are thinking that it is difficult to understand bisexuals, mind you, it’s even more difficult being one.

For example, from the very moment I admitted to my friends that I’m bisexual, they never ever considered me as a species capable of loving a woman again. They were blinded by the fact that now, I like guys, too. Although that is very true, that’s all they see now. They forgot that I also find Nicole of Pussycat Dolls sexy, or that I am obsessed with Nicole Kidman, and that I once said that I wanted to fuck Keira Knightley. Hell, they even forgot that I had girlfriends. All they know now is that I like Steven Gerrard and Andriy Shevchenko. And never did they ask why I like them. It’s not because they look good (but hell, they do), but because they’re great football players. Although I admit that CNN‘s Don Riddell‘s lips really take my breath away.

Another thing. And this time, I’m not only speaking for the bisexual guys but for the gay guys as well. We may (also) like men but it doesn’t mean we want to become women! I mean, come on, you know me. I’m the most chauvinistic, anti-feministic friend you (will ever) have! I love men AND I love being one. I love being a man. Never had the thought of wearing skirts or panties entered my mind. It’s like the eeeewiest thing to occur to me.

All gay and bisexual guys are not capable of having serious romantic relationships because all they want and need is sex, sex, sex. THIS IS SOOO NOT TRUE. And this is, in most cases, the reason gay guys are very afraid to come out. They don’t want to be seen as pervs. I’m not saying that no one in our group is like that. What I’m trying to point out is that NOT EVERY GAY GUY in this happy, gay world is.

Maybe what I’m really trying to say here is this: I love regardless of sex or gender. Man or woman, I don’t care. Love knows no gender (or age or race).

Whatever. Basta. I’m happy.

Munich Loves Me. Sickness, Too.

Posted on by Yoshke in Friends, Health, Music |

Ayn gave me a “Munich Loves You” flag, which she got from some guy in that German city, and a Germany travel-slash-football guide. Thanks, Ayn! I sooo love it. But I’m sorry I didn’t have much energy to jump out of my seat in utter happiness when you gave it to me. I needed (and still need) some rest. But I’m really grateful. Promise. And oh! Munich, I love you, too. I envy Ayn for doing that Euro Tour. Waaah! I wish I had much time and money and support from my family! Hahaha. Anyway, in 2008, let’s invade Europe. Come on! Football Euro 2008!!! Sugod Ayn and KZ!!!

I’ve been sick since Friday. I’m still trying to figure out the cause. Was it my excessive smoking? Was it too much work and stress? Or was it simply the weather? It must be the weather (or at least that’s what I want to believe). Anyhow, I need to get rid of this hell-like fever, runny nose and coughing like there’s no tomorrow. Ironically, I still managed to get drunk last night at the UP Cinema Videoke Party/ Team-Building Seminar, but to no effect. Being sick and being drunk did not make that much of a difference. Anyway, Thanks Ace for all the beer! I was also not able to hug anyone because I feared passing on the viruses. Suddenly, I became a walking viral infection.

People, Like Opportunities, Come and Go

THE POST-GRADUATION EFFECT
You think life after graduation is much happier than college life? You’re wrong. It’s a complete change of lifestyle. And it’s not easy. Looking for jobs, leaving and being left by people you are used to be with, missing the review and lecture days…. It’s difficult

I have a couple of reasons to be sad. Kuya Amiel has officially moved out of the house this morning. He’ll be working in Clark. (sigh) Four years of being roommates ended just like that. Anyway, I’m also moving to Makati soon.

Another is that I used to complain because of all the companies that I have sent my resume to, no one was calling me for an interview or exam or whatever. But now, I’ve been receiving a lot of offers. It’s cool, really. But they’re challenging my decision-making skills. I can’t choose. But at the end of the day, I think I’ll just go for the company which gives the biggest compensation.

One thing is for sure, though. I’m gonna be a diplomat in two years time (naks, confidence) and so, whatever company I would work for in the next months, I won’t be staying there for long.

Bad News with Pretty Faces

Posted on by Yoshke in Hotties, TV |

Now that the World Cup is over, watching CNN International has again become painful. Not because they deliver news badly but because they only have bad news now. Let’s see… the Middle East crisis (in case you don’t know, idiot, I’m talking about the tension between Lebanon and Israel), the 39 landslides in Baguio City, the Mumbai bombings, the plane crash in Siberia, the mere appearance of President Bush, and Zenedine Zidane’s head-butting display.

Good thing the beautiful Monita Rajpal, her partner cutie-pie Max Foster, funny guy Michael Holmes (I might be the only one who finds this man funny but I really love it when he makes comments on the issues; he has this wickedly weird sense of humour and sarcasm), the very sexy weather girl Jenny Harrison and the strangely attractive Mr. Sport Know-it-all Don Riddell (I sooo love his lips) are still there. And although I’m starting to develop a certain immunity to bad news, the good news is these anchors and reporters sort of balance things up. These people — to die for. Everybody is Capable of Change

Posted on by Yoshke in Career, Conversations, Friends, Public Affairs, The World |

I had a little talk with Eric Declaro. He encouraged me to pursue taking the Foreign Service Exams. But I have just found out that the deadline was May 29 for this year’s applications. Oh well, I might as well wait for another year. We also talked about some other stuff…

Eric: So, where do you want to be assigned if ever you become a Foreign Service Officer or a diplomat?

Yoshke: Germany… or France.

Eric: France, I understand. But Germany….

Yoshke: Why not? Have a problem with the Germans?

Eric: Oh, those racist, Nazi, holocaust yadda yadda…

Yoshke: Easy… easy. You sound more racist to me. That was Cretaceous Period you’re talking about. There’s such a thing as ‘change’, a’right? Did you know that after the Asian tsunami incident a couple of years ago, Germany donated more than 375 million euros to the affected nations namely Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India? That was unmatched by any other country and probably bigger than all the other donations combined. They also set up a early warning device. And besides, forget about the holocaust. They have also constructed a holocaust memorial in the heart of Berlin.

Eric: You know what, all those things, there is a word for it… I just forgot what it is… [pause] Oh! I remember!

Yoshke: What’s the word?

Eric: GUILT.

Yoshke: Get outta here!

The End of the World as I Know It

Posted on by Yoshke in Emo, Sports |

It’s my favourite sport but sometimes, football can be the cruelest game in the world. I know, I know. Germany lost. And it’s really difficult to absorb the truth. I have been mourning since that first goal from Italy and nothing has changed. It feels as if someone so dear to me had passed away. I have never loved a sport team this much. And the World Cup is over for us. It did not matter that I was a bit embarassed that people were seeing me shed tears on my way home.

Last two minutes! Last two minutes of EXTRA TIME! How cruel could fate get? Italy delivered two goals in the last dying seconds of the match. Germany did not expect that something like that would happen. They might have been very relaxed, waiting for a penalty shoot-out because they know it would be a sure-win for them. But the penalty shoot-out never came because Italy scored.

But I’m not blaming the players. They did a very good job in the tournament. It’s just that the idea that Germany is not gonna be the World Champion saddens me so.

Anyway, I’m now hoping that France win. After all, they are my third favourite team. I don’t care about the little bet I have with Josh. Our deal: P500 — his if France wins; mine if Germany wins. But I have already lost. And I don’t care if I lose P500. I just want France to win this time — now that Germany has gone home.
