As far as blogging duties go, Vins got the most thankless job. Much of his work happens behind the scenes. He handles all administrative tasks and takes on the responsibilities of a COO, treasurer, secretary, manager, and messenger. He also takes care or our SEO, making sure that we’re on top of Google search results. They just don’t come with an easily visible byline.
Yet he does it so well that it’s easy to mistake the inconspicuousness for absence. But it’s there. If you take a closer look at our blog’s operations, you’ll find Vins’s touch everywhere. It’s just that sometimes, you have to — sorry for the pun — search for it.
He always apologizes for not being a writer or a speaker. But the business of travel content creation isn’t all about the travel or the content. There’s a whole boring finance and marketing side to it that is just not as glamorous but just as vital. And it’s Vins who takes it on willingly, eagerly, triumphantly. (Yes, like Mariah Carey. Lol.)
At the hellish peak of the pandemic, Vins returned to a 9-5 corporate setup and gave up his blog salary in order to give our small company a fighting chance. Talk about sacrifice and commitment. This dude bowed to the ground and offered his back for us to step on and from which we could learn to jump and fly again.
I know I’m not the easiest to work with. I’m volatile, demanding, at times uncompromising, and a bit too extra in every way. But thank you for being the kindest, most patient, most committed, and most hardworking person in the world!
