Turning It Around
ISTANBUL, Turkey — After being conned by a taxi driver, we felt like our mood was dampened a little bit. It just left a bitter taste, you know.
But when we were looking for souvenirs (to give to friends), we stumbled upon this small shop manned by this guy. His items were half the price of the others. As we took our picks, we had a little chat. “I’m from Turkmenistan,” he said.
Because he was friendly and we enjoyed our conversation, we thought it would be nice to just let him keep the change (as tip). He won’t accept it. He said it was great to meet people, and the pleasure was all his.
Kudos to you, sir.
