3 Funny Call Videos on YouTube

What’s the last letter of the alphabet? For one very special person in the world, it’s “Ek.” Move over, Z. I stumbled upon this video on Facebook (a lot of my friends shared a link to this video). I was working, doing my usual Facebook monitoring and I decided to finally watch the video and…

The Couple on the Bus

This is a part of the Yoshke is Evil series, in which I will narrate incidents in which I question my goodness or think I should have made better choices. This incident happened a few months ago and I’m still not over it. I love taking the bus at night, especially when the roads are almost empty. That’s why one time, after a night of shopping and conversations over coffee with my friends at Trinoma, it was my default choice to take the bus. I made my way out of the mall through the Mindanao Exit, walked along North Avenue,…

Dump Your Guy, Date Andre

The last time I featured Andre and his crazy antics on this blog was in December last year when I posted about Pasay City. A lot has changed since then. For starters, we are now working with the same company. And we’re not just officemates, we’re also in the same team. We’re also housemates. So you can just imagine how many doses of major major “crazy” I get from him every day. Well, Andre is single. Very much so. And if you’re looking for a witty, brilliant, vibrant young guy who can brighten up your day with just a few…

My Top 100 All-Time Favorite Love Songs (Part 5)

Love songs are here to stay. No matter what genre dominates the airwaves, romantic elements just keep on creeping its way into pop. Love songs know no season, gender, age and territory. It’s just so universal. Everyone can relate to love songs. This is the fifth installment of my list of 100 love songs that I am completely in love with. This batch includes singles from number 31-45. Again, this is a personal list — songs that have touched me in many ways. (Click on the title of the song to listen to it.) 45. Ricky Martin feat Christina Aguilera…

Someone’s Moving to Isabela

This post is going to be short. I’m in a hurry. Last week, one of my friends posted this video on Facebook and it’s just so hilarious that I want to share this with all of you. When I saw that it was 7 minutes long, I thought I would not be able to finish watching it but these two guys are just so fun to watch. This is a video of Turock (Tory) and Jason who have been running a taxi in Isabela, Philippines over the past year. They are Americans who lost their jobs in their homeland and…

Beefy Predicament

This is a part of the Yoshke is Evil series, in which I will narrate incidents wherein I question my goodness or feel like I could have done things differently. This incident happened two years ago and I still can’t get this out of my head. Midnight. I had been studying for hours with a friend at Gloria Jean’s Café in Tomas Morato when I felt hungry so we decided to move to a Chinese fast food restaurant across the street for a few minutes. I was smilingly greeted by a female cashier who was ready to take my order.…

Forget Me Not

I am a good person. At least I think so. I always believe in the good in people. I have faith in a person’s goodness until he proves otherwise. I think I’m kind. I think I’m compassionate. I think I’m helpful. I mean, unlike some people, I wanted to become a diplomat because I actually, genuinely, sincerely, honestly believe in peace and that I had something to contribute to promote it. I donate to charity twice a year. I stand by my friends. I make sure things are fair as far as I could. I like goodwill. So yeah, I…

The Road to Death

Our house in Batangas is along the national highway. It can get really busy. When I’m home, I always have to close the windows tight so the noise could not distract me from doing my usual activities comprised mainly of watching TV and err… watching TV. Open the window a little bit and your viewing experience is ruined. But the noise is not why I call this “The Road to Death.” The noise is tolerable. It’s been there before us so we have no right to complain. What’s relatively new is the long island in the middle of the road.…
